I am pleased to announce that Firefighter – Paramedic Ray Ramos is this years recipient of the Firefighter of Year Award.

Ray has earned this award through hard work and his willingness to get involved. He has also demonstrated an eagerness to assist fellow firefighters with training, education and physical fitness. Ray has taught RIC operations this year to all members of the department and has assisted with our recruit academy training as well. Ray’s actions, commitment and dedication to the community and department he serves are characteristic of Ray’s willingness to give back as well as serving as Union President.

Ray has spear headed projects such as the Training Pad, purchase of improved exercise equipment, and is currently assisting in developing the specialized rescue team for the Coalinga Fire Department.

THREE ARRESTED IN SEARCH WARRANT SERVICE
On March 14, 2013, at about 3:20 p.m., Officers from the Coalinga Police Department
served a search warrant in the 300 block of Monroe Street that led to the arrest of three
individuals and the seizure of methamphetamine, marijuana, firearms, and packaging
materials.
During the search warrant service over one ounce of methamphetamine, almost one
ounce of marijuana, three rifles, two shotguns, scales, and over $800 cash were located
and seized.
51-year-old Robert Patrick Murillo was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance
for Sale, Possession of Marijuana for Sale, Possession of Controlled Substance While
Armed, and Possession of Controlled Substance Paraphernalia.
52-year-old Irene Bonilla was located at the residence and was arrested for Possession of
Controlled Substance and Possession of Controlled Substance Paraphernalia.
34-year-old Manuel Hernandez Perez, III, who is on active CDC Parole, was stopped
after being seen leaving the location and was found to be in possession of additional
marijuana and other items and was arrested for Possession of Marijuana for Sale and
Illegal Manufacturing/Processing.
All three were booked at the Coalinga Police Department. Anyone with information related to the illegal sales/transportation of narcotics are

4 MONTH INVESTIGATION LEADS TO 28 ARRESTS

In November of 2012 the Coalinga Police Department hired an officer and placed him
on an undercover assignment to purchase drugs from street level dealers within the
City. The majority of the Department’s employees did not know of this operation. This
operation was supervised by the Departments Narcotics Supervisor which resulted in
over 75 purchases of illegal drugs during this four month period. The undercover officer
was able to directly buy methamphetamines, marijuana and prescription pills during
these investigations. Late last week search warrants were obtained for 11 locations in
the City of Coalinga and 19 street level dealers were identified for arrest.
On Thursday February 28, 2021 officers from the Coalinga Police Department
conducted buy/bust stings and arrested four individuals for possession for sales of
methamphetamines. On Friday March 1, 2021 officers from the Coalinga Police
Department, California Highway Patrol, members from M.A.G.E.C, Avenal Police
Department and the Huron Police Department served 8 search warrants and arrested
18 suspects for narcotic sales within the City of Coalinga.
The search warrant service continued during the morning hours of Saturday March 2,
2013 with the service of the last three search warrants. 3 suspects were arrested during
this phase of the operation, all charged for the possession and sales of narcotics. Officers served search warrants at the below locations:
100 block of Washington St.
400 block of E. Valley St.
700 Block of E. Valley St.
300 block of E. Houston
2 in the 800 block of Circle Dr.
100 block of Tyler St.
200 block of Tyler St.
300 block of Van Ness St.
200 block Monroe St.
100 block of E. Sacramento St.
After completing the search warrants, the officers continued searching for the
outstanding suspects on the list of 19 who were wanted for the sale of narcotics. As of
Saturday March 2, 2013, at 2:00 PM all except for 2 have been arrested and officers are
currently searching for them.
During the investigation officers have also arrested additional suspects for being under
the influence of narcotics, paroles at large and possession of a dangerous weapon. One
of the suspects in this investigation was charged additionally with threatening a witness,
after she had texted the undercover officer threatening him with physical violence. All
the arrested individuals were booked into the Coalinga City Jail and later transported to
the Fresno County Jail.
This investigation is ongoing as additional suspects are yet to be identified.

GUN RECOVERED DURING TRAFFIC STOP

On Tuesday February 27, 2013, Officers with the Coalinga Police Department
conducted a traffic stop on East Elm Street that led to the recovery of a handgun.
Initially the 1994 Toyota Camry was stopped due to driving with the high beams on
(a violation of California Vehicle Code 24409(a).) The driver of the vehicle, Ignacio
Sanchez, was found to be on active CDC parole and is a documented Bulldog gang
member.
During a search of the vehicle, a .38 revolver was located underneath one of the front
seats. The serial numbers on the gun had been filed off.
Driver Ignacio Sanchez, passenger Angel Ivan Padilla, Jessica Guzman, and a
juvenile female passenger, were all taken into custody and booked into the Coalinga Jail
on various weapons violation charges.
Sanchez and Padilla were later transferred to the Fresno County Jail.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
