This morning hundreds gathered in jackets and coats in the early morning to watch the hot air balloons setup and take off at the Coalinga Practice Field.

The yearly event attracts people from all over California and some traveling from remote areas across the country.

Tickets were sold for a hot breakfast that was provided for the attendees. Some said the breakfast was just as spectacular as the balloons.

If you didn’t get a chance this year to see the balloons, no worries, they will be back next year!!!

Cambridge High School is proud to announce that the November Student of the Month is Josue Barrera. Josue is a senior at Cambridge High School.

He comes to class everyday with a great attitude and ready to learn. He is respectful and makes everyone around him smile. Josue is eager in class and completes all his work.

He has worked very hard this quarter to earn credits. Mrs. Cardenas, Mrs. Alvarez, Mrs. Piper, Mrs. Irby and Mrs. Vosburg are all proud of Josue’s hard work.

According to witnesses an argument may have caused an accident between a silver SUV and a pedestrian that happened on Polk and Louisiana St. leaving one lady in need of medical attention.

Police Chief Cal Minor said they are currently looking for the lady said to be driving a silver Nissan SUV for questioning.

As of now no charges have been filed.
